The browser does not open the pages, but the Internet is available and Skype is working. Reasons why Yandex Browser does not work

Yandex does not index my site...

This phrase can now be found on every forum. Both me and thousands of other owners of new sites are very interested in the question: “Why has Yandex been indexing new sites very slowly lately or not indexing them at all?”

Most novice webmasters describe approximately the same problem. Very often, a site is successfully indexed by other search engines, such as Google, Rambler, Yahoo, MSN, Aport, etc., but Yandex flatly refuses to index the site even if there are external links already indexed by Yandex itself. This is the paradox...

And the owners of newly created resources begin to scour the forums in the hope of finding an answer to this difficult question.

By the way, I am no exception, which is why I decided to raise this topic. My site was fully indexed by the Google search engine just two weeks after it was published on the Internet. At that time, the site did not have a single external link, but was added to the webmasters panel.

Yandex has not indexed a single page yet, although more than two months have already passed. And this situation is observed among many site owners. Many of them, tired of finding out the reasons for the lack of indexing on the part of Yandex, began to promote their sites under Google. I feel like I will have to go this route too. Moreover, all new articles on my website are indexed very quickly by Google.

I can say the same about the Rambler search engine. Yes, it is somewhat inferior in terms of indexing speed to Google, but nevertheless, almost all pages of my site have been indexed by it today. It’s a pity that in terms of popularity among Internet users, Rambler lags significantly behind Yandex...

For those who have not yet lost hope of getting into the Yandex index, the rest of the article is devoted to where we will try to find out the main reasons for the absence of a young site in the index.

So, first, let's make sure that Yandex really hasn't indexed a single page of the site. To do this, we will use the advanced search of Yandex itself.

Leave the "I'm looking for" field on the advanced search page empty. In the "On site" field, enter the address of your site and click "Find" at the very bottom of the page. If you receive in response “The combination of words you are looking for does not appear anywhere,” then indexing has indeed passed you by.

Or maybe Yandex doesn’t even know about the existence of your site. Have you added it to the webmasters panel, is it displayed there?

If data about it appears in the webmaster panel, then Yandex is aware and your site is probably stuck in the queue for indexing. If the site is not in the webmasters panel, you may not have been able to confirm the rights to it. Try confirming your rights again.

Many webmasters have concerns that their site has been banned or is subject to penalties. It’s easy to check your site for a ban; to do this, add the address of any internal page of your site to the form for adding new URLs (popularly called addurilka). If the result is: “Your address has been successfully added and will be indexed...”, then there is no question of any ban.

If the answer is: "URL is unavailable", then there are technical problems with the server. To verify this, look at the server logs. Typically, hosting clients have free access to server logs in their admin panel. If there is no access, you can contact hosting technical support with a request to provide the latest entries in the log log.

The log entry looks like this:

275.169.105.78 - [ 29.11.2010: 15:35:47 + 0500 ] " GET/HTTP/1.01 200 OK "_" "Yandex/1.01.001 (compatible, win16, I).

Now let's decipher this entry:

275.169.105.78 is the IP address from which visitors or bots come to you;

11/29/2010: 15:35:47 - this is the date and time they visited your site;

HTTP/1.01 200 is the server response; the server response must contain the number 200, this means that the site page is available for reading. If there is no such response, it makes sense to contact the hoster with a request to troubleshoot;

Yandex/1.01.001 (compatible, win16, I ) is the name of the Yandex bot, pay attention to the last character I , it is inherent in the main Yandex bot. If there is such an entry in the log, then there is no need to panic. This means that the main Yandex bot is visiting your site and perhaps soon the site’s pages will appear in the index.

The main thing is that after Yandex/1.01.001 (compatible, win16, I ) there was no error message, for example HTTP/1.1.404 Not Found, meaning that the server bot did not allow the Yandex bot to read the page. If you find such an entry, contact the hoster immediately.

You can also check the server response in the servicebe1.ru/stat/ or its analogueseo-rus.com. At the end page, after analyzing the site there will be a record like this:

Heading

HTTP/1.1 200 OK

Server: nginx/0.7.67

Content-Type: text/html

Connection: close

ETag: "5c8e26-6636-4961a4c921a80"

Accept-Ranges: bytes

Content-Length: 26166

Vary: Accept-Encoding

In the line after 271 you see the required server response. If, as a result of your inspection, no technical reasons have been identified and your site is not banned or visited by bots, you have not violated any rules for the licensed use of the Yandex search engine, your site is an SDL, the content on the site is unique, you do not trade links, and do not create spam, then The only way out of this situation is to contact Yandex technical support.

In this article, I will talk about various solutions that may come in handy when pages in your browser stop opening. At the same time, the Internet is available and it works. Programs such as Skype, various torrent clients and the like continue to work and access the Internet. And sites do not open in all browsers. When you try to open a page, it first takes a long time to load, and then an error appears that the page is not accessible and the browser could not open it. The text of the error itself may differ depending on the browser.

In Opera and Chrome, for example, the error: “There is no Internet connection,” or “Cannot access the site.” In the Mozilla browser: "Server not found", in Yandex Browser: "Cannot establish a connection to the site", and in Microsoft Edge (which is in Windows 10): "This page could not be opened."

It doesn’t matter what browser you have, the pages will not open in any case. But the important point here is that the Internet works on the computer. There is no yellow exclamation mark near the cable or Wi-Fi connection icon. If it exists, then this is a different problem, and there are other solutions. If this is the case for you, write in the comments, I will provide links to instructions. Perhaps you are connected to the Internet through a router or modem, in which case the sites may not open on all devices. I will write about this below.

Well, there are also situations when only some sites do not open on the computer. Usually these are search engine sites or social networks: Odnoklassniki, VKontakte, Facebook, etc. In this case, the solutions that I will discuss below should correct this situation.

And one more thing: it doesn’t matter what version of Windows is installed on your computer, just like the browser. I will show using Windows 10 as an example. In Windows 7 and Windows 8 the solutions will be the same. If the actions are different somewhere, I will write about it.

Why don't browsers open websites? How to fix?

It was possible to immediately launch heavy artillery into battle and talk about difficult decisions (though often the most effective), but as practice shows, it is better to first apply a few simple actions, which also often help get rid of this or that problem.

  • Rebooting your computer, router, modem is the first step. Did not help? Go ahead.
  • If you have the Internet through a router, and pages do not open on all devices, in all browsers, then it makes sense to call your provider’s support and report the problem. It is possible that they have some kind of equipment failure, and due to problems with DNS servers, the sites do not open.
  • If the problem is on one device, or the Internet is connected directly to the computer, then it makes sense to temporarily disable the antivirus.
  • Very rarely the problem appears suddenly. Think about it, maybe the browsers stopped loading sites after changing some settings, curing viruses, installing programs, antiviruses, etc. This is very important. After all, you can always undo some changes or remove installed programs.
  • If possible, connect another device, another computer to the Internet, and try to go to a site. If everything opens, then you can rule out a problem on the provider’s side, in the router, or modem.

If the tips described above did not help, then there is no need to be upset, I have a few more good solutions. First, I will talk about the most effective solutions based on my own experience and feedback in the comments to other articles.

DNS problem is the most common cause

It is because of problems with DNS addresses that most often it is not possible to access sites. But Skype and other programs can still work without problems. In this case, the browser may say that the DNS server could not be found, or something like that. What should be done:

  1. Change DNS in the connection properties on your computer. I recommend registering DNS from Google. If the problem occurs on all devices, then DNS can be set in the router settings, or separately on mobile devices.
  2. Reset the DNS cache. This is an additional way. Just open the command prompt as administrator and run the command ipconfig /flushdns, and restart your computer.

I wrote about this in more detail in the article:. Everything is simple there. First, let's go to network connections.

After reboot (or even without it) everything should work. I showed how to change DNS in the router settings in the article, the link to which I gave above.

Check the properties of the browser (educator), disable the proxy

You need to check some settings in the educator properties. Is there an automatic configuration script set there, and are there any proxy servers installed? Since the parameters are set in the properties of the educator, they apply to all browsers. And various viruses and malware often make changes to these settings, after which sites stop opening.

Go to the control panel. Switch view to "Large icons", find and open "Educator Properties". This is in Windows 7 and XP. If you have Windows 10 or 8, then this item is called "Browser Options". It can be found and launched via search.

Go to the "Connections" tab, and click on the "Network Settings" button. Another window will open. Check that the settings match the ones I have in the screenshot below.

Proxy servers and automatic configuration scripts must be disabled. If some parameters were set there, then after disabling them everything should work.

Windows Registry Solution

Press the Win + R key combination, enter the regedit command in the Run window and click Ok. The Registry Editor will open. Let's go to the section:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\

There will be different options in the window on the left. We are interested in the parameter AppInit_DLLs. The value of this parameter must be empty. If you have something written there, then double-click on the AppInit_DLLs parameter to open it, delete everything from the “Value” line, and click Ok.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\

If you don't find the parameter you need in this section, that's okay. Just restart your computer.

Clearing the routing table, resetting the TCP/IP protocol

You can try clearing all network settings. If you have Windows 10, then this can be done through the settings by clicking just one button. I wrote about this in more detail in the article:. Or do everything as shown below.

Important! If you have set up a connection to your provider, or you have set some static IP settings to access the Internet, then after resetting the settings you will most likely need to reconfigure the connection. If you are not sure that you can do this, then it is better not to reset.

First, clear the routing table. Launch Command Prompt as Administrator and run the following command ( copy it to the command line and press Enter):

Restart your computer and check the result.

If this does not help, then launch the command line again, and run these two commands in turn:

netsh winsock reset

netsh int ip reset

After this, you also need to restart the computer. Then open your browser and try to open some page. If sites still do not open, try other recommendations from this article.

Websites won't open due to hosts file

It makes sense to check the contents of the hosts file. Especially if you have a problem with opening only certain sites. For example: vk.com, ok.ru, etc. If not a single page opens in your browser, then the problem is unlikely to be in the hosts file.

In Explorer, go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc. You can simply copy this path and paste it into Explorer. Next, open the hosts file using notepad.

It should look something like this (I'm on Windows 10):

If you have any other lines there that you did not write yourself, then you can try to delete them and save the hosts file.

Or simply find a standard hosts file on the Internet, copy the contents to your file and save. IN Windows 7, 8 and 10 the contents of the file will look the same as in the screenshot above.

Viruses and malware - the cause of the error "Cannot access the site"

If you have already tried different solutions, but the sites still do not want to open in browsers, an error appears that the page is unavailable, then it is possible that your computer is infected with some kind of virus, or all this is the work of some malicious program. Especially if you don't have an antivirus installed on your computer.

It is not uncommon for malware to change some parameters, network settings, or browser settings. As a result, sites stop opening, but the Internet continues to work.

I recommend downloading one of the utilities that are designed to find and remove malware and scan your computer. Also install an antivirus (if you don’t have one), and run a scan of your computer. Among the anti-virus utilities I would recommend: AdwCleaner, HitmanPro, Dr.Web CureIt!, Zemana AntiMalware, Junkware Removal Tool.

These utilities can be easily downloaded on the Internet. They are very easy to use. Most are in Russian.

A few more points:

  • There is information that pages may not load due to Avast antivirus. Everything starts to work only after disabling or completely removing the antivirus.
  • If, after applying some solution, everything worked, but after a while the problem returned, then most likely this indicates that the computer is infected, and the virus writes back some parameters due to which the problem returns.
  • Check that the time and date on your computer are set correctly.

Write about your results in the comments. Share tips and ask questions. Best wishes!

Users of the social network want to always stay connected from a smartphone or desktop PC. A lot of negative emotions arise when a user clicks on a link, but VKontakte does not open. In such a situation, there is no opportunity to continue communicating with friends, watch videos, listen to music, etc. If VK does not work in the Yandex browser, you must first find out the cause of the problems and take appropriate measures to eliminate it.

Negative factors that negatively affect the functioning of the social network:

  • Problems with the server itself.
  • Saving the wrong domain name.
  • Blocking by antivirus or ad blocker.

There are a number of other problems due to which the application does not function normally. They should be considered separately so that they can be corrected when they appear.

You should start troubleshooting when your stories are not loading and you have problems logging in.

Viruses

Malware often negatively affects the functioning of a social network. This problem is not difficult to deal with. You need to run an antivirus and remove problematic folders from your computer. To avoid infecting your PC or smartphone with viruses, it is recommended to install and activate an antivirus program and scan all files before downloading.

HOSTS file

A lot of errors are created by the HOSTS file, which is responsible for the process of converting a domain name to an IP address. This is due to viruses that provoke the appearance of new entries to an existing site name.

Follow the step by step guide:

  1. Go to the system folder with system32.
  2. Find and open HOSTS using a standard notepad.
  3. We delete the line vkontakte.ru.

After cleaning the PC from unnecessary information, as a rule, the program starts to launch. If the actions taken did not eliminate the problem, then the reason is different.

Cookie

The most common cause of problems accessing a social network is a clogged cache in the browser. To fix the problem, just clear your cookies and cache:

  • Go to “Settings” in the “Advanced” section.
  • Go to the item “Protection of personal information”.
  • Click on “Content Settings” and “Cookies”.

It is advisable to remove all unnecessary information. The average user does not need such data, because they provide absolutely no benefit. After reloading the browser, the system begins to function without problems.

What to do?

It is difficult to determine on your own why VK does not work in the Yandex browser. If the shortcut does not open, you need to disable the ad blocker or reinstall the application. If the problems are not resolved, then you should clean your PC from viruses, look at the HOSTS file or delete cookies.

As soon as information is added to the site, we immediately want it to get to the top, or at least in the search results. But search engines have their own program, unfortunately, they don’t do that. For such a result, you must wait for indexing for several weeks (for some it takes more than a month). Everyone has their own methods for solving this or that problem, which is why I will talk about how to speed up indexing time using proven methods.

Many optimizers have regular problems with speeding up indexing in Yandex. I will tell you about the most important ways that will help you quickly influence indexing, and also give you a guarantee that a particular page will be included in the index. It all depends on the site itself, the specifics, as well as the quality of the written texts.

Be sure to add your site to Yandex.Webmaster

This will enable your site not only to be in the attention of Yandex, but also the opportunity for you to be aware of all the useful functions. For example, you can protect your content from theft using the unique “Original Texts” service (Yandex itself says so). But I can say with confidence that there is no such thing. Even if you add your new articles to the “Original Articles” service, then all the same, your page with the article will be lower if a more trusted site has published the material on its site. It’s better to add your sitemap to your Webmaste Yandex account.

Social media

They will be popular both in Yandex and Google. It’s worth noting that Yandex attaches much more importance to such networks, which is why it definitely won’t be superfluous. If you are the owner of a popular account with a large number of subscribers, then the Yandex fast robot will never stand aside.

RSS

Constant updates on the site

A lot of difficulties and problems arise when the site contains a lot of new and different materials. If you add content at a certain interval, for example, 2 articles per week, then the robot will visit your site on time. But this is only if you have already suffered with Yandex, and are a respected trust site for Yandex.

In this article we will tell you why Yandex may not index a specific page on a website, a section, or the entire project. The problems described can affect indexing in Google and any other search engines. Pages dropping out of the index is a serious problem, since it directly affects the potential number of hits that a resource can receive from search engines.

1. Yandex does not fully index the site

If you have a new website, it will not appear in the search engine right away - it can take from 2-3 weeks to a month. As a rule, Google finds and indexes new projects faster, Yandex slower.

If 2-3 weeks have passed and Yandex still does not index the site, perhaps it simply does not know about it:

  1. Add a link to the site in a special form: http://webmaster.yandex.ru/addurl.xml
  2. Add your site to the Yandex.Webmaster service: http://webmaster.yandex.ru
  3. Add Yandex.Metrica to your website
  4. Place links to the site from social networks and blogs (search engine robots actively index new content on social networks and blogs);

1.2. The old site has partially or completely dropped out of the index

You will notice this problem by comparing the number of pages on the site and the number of pages in the search engine index (you can view it through the Yandex.Webmaster service).

If most of the pages have dropped out of the index, and only the main page or the main page and several internal ones remain, the problem is most likely in the applied AGS filter. Yandex has considered the content of your site to be non-unique or unattractive to users. The site content needs to be reworked.

In addition to applying filters, Yandex may not index the site for the following reasons:

  1. Accidentally disabled indexing in the Robots.txt file. Check its contents.
  2. The robot cannot access the site due to unstable hosting or the robot’s IP address was accidentally banned (for example, the site reflected a DDOS attack and the search engine robot was mistaken for an attacker).

2. Yandex does not index pages on the site

This problem occurs more often than the entire site falling out of the index. Typical problems in which Yandex may not index a page include:

  1. The search engine robot does not reach the page due to the confusing site structure or high level of nesting. Try to make it so that you can get to any page of the site with two clicks. Create a sitemap.
  2. The page doesn't have much unique, interesting content, and the search engine doesn't consider it useful to visitors. Check the uniqueness of the text, modify it, make it more useful.
  3. The number of pages on the site exceeds the limit allocated by the search engine for the project. For example, Yandex is ready to index 10 thousand pages from your site, and 15 thousand pages from your project. In any case, 5 thousand pages will not be included in the index. Try to develop the project to increase the limit - and close unnecessary, service pages from indexing to free up space in the index for promoted pages.
  4. There are no links to the page - therefore, the search engine cannot find it.
  5. The page is prohibited from indexing in the Robots.txt file. Check the contents of the file.
  6. The page contains the noindex attribute in the robots meta tag, so it is not indexed by search engines. Check the page code.
  7. The site menu is made in flash, which search engines do not process. Accordingly, Yandex does not index site pages whose links are hidden in flash. It is necessary to create an alternative menu, the links in which will be accessible to search engine robots.
